About the Event
Ko te Huinga Tauira, he huinga whanaungatanga-a-motu tēnei mō ngā tauira Māori e ako ana i te kura tuatoru. He hui mō te whakapakari i ngā tikanga Māori , reo, whakapapa, me te mātauranga Māori hoki. E whā ngā rā o te hui, ā he maha o ngā mahi pai, ko te kapa haka, waka ama, manu kōrero me ētahi atu mea. He hui mō te whakapiki i te mana Māori , te oranga, me te wāhi kāinga , ki ngā tauira Māori.
Te Huinga Tauira o Te Mana Ākonga is an annual event that advocates the enhancement of our fundamental Māori values and in doing so strengthens our reo, tikanga, whakapapa and mātauranga Māori whilst networking with other Māori students from all around Aotearoa. It is usually a 4 day event that includes an AGM and activities such as Kapahaka, Waka Ama, Manu Kōrero speech & debating competitions and much more. It is through coming together in an environment that celebrates who we are as Māori that not only uplifts the spiritual well-being of our students but also reaffirms their place in the world.
